Lasurf visits LQBS
On August 30th, our coordinator Profa. Aurora Pérez Gramatges and our researcher DSc. Luis Maqueira were very well received at the Laboratory of Soil Biological Chemistry at UFFRJ. Our brothers in innovation shared their findings regarding food safety, a very important topic today. LASURF at InterPore
LASURF was very well represented at the 15th Annual International Conference on Porous Media – Interpore by our coordinator, Prof. Aurora Pérez Gramatges and Dr. Leandro Freitas Lopes.
On this occasion we also had the participation of Dr. Juliana Façanha, a former laboratory collaborator.
The event brought together scientists from around the world and our representatives contributed with exhibitions and oral presentations.

LASURF recieves delegation from Equinor
On a tour of the laboratories and equipment, the Surfactant Physical-Chemistry Laboratory received a delegation from the Norwegian partner, Equinor.
The visit made it possible to bring together teams of researchers who will work together on future projects.

LASURF members are accepted to present their work at ROG 2020
LASURF's work on foam injection in carbonate rocks entitled: "Behavior of foams in analogous carbonate rocks: comparison with tracer curves and permeability effect" was approved among the top 350 for to be presented in the Rio Oil and Gas 2020, between the 1st – 3rd of December 2020.

On Wednesday, 19/08/2020, our coordinator Prof. Aurora Pérez Gramatges, together with Thaís Márcia Silveira (Equinor), Eliana Susuchi (UFS) and Milena Siqueira (Halliburton), participated in the round table “Research, Development and Innovation (R,D&I): Contributions to Industry, Society, and Future Perspectives” organized by the WIN SPE Brazil Section.

LASURF member participates in live on increase in oil recovery factor in Brazilian fields
On Thursday 23/07/2020, a member of our group, Juliana Façanha , together with Homayra Tavares and Rafaela Furtado, participated in the live "How increase the oil recovery factor: A regulatory view – Onshore to Offshore" , where an overview of how to increase the recovery factor of Brazilian fields onshore and offshore was presented. The live was organized by the SPE UVA Student Chapter and moderated by Bruna Vale. Participants gave an overview of the technical and regulatory factors that are preventing higher recovery factors from being achieved in Brazil as well as technologies and regulatory adjustments that can be applied to achieve greater oil production.

LASURF members participated in the EUFOAM Conference (2020)
Between the 6th and 9th of July, researchers Leandro Freitas, Eduardo Creatto, Juliana Façanha, Bruno Giordano and Prof. Aurora Pérez presented our research at the EUFOAM 2020 conference (online) which is the most important “studies of foam” conference ( https://eufoam2020.aber.ac.uk/overview/ ). We are proud to be the only Latin American group to participate in the conference!

On September 14, 2019, a member of our group, Luis Maqueira, received the award the best poster (1st place) at the III Workshop on Applications of Polymers and Surfactants in Solution, with the work entitled:
"Stability study of CO2-foam by commercial surfactants in the presence of different nanoparticles for application in enhanced oil recovery"
The work presented was carried out in co-authorship with other members of LASURF: Paloma Moura (IC), Caio da Cruz Mello (Tec.), Aurora Pérez Gramatges (PI)
